Scientists have developed a new sensor that can provide real0-time body conditions. The new sensor is the brainchild of Professor Hyuk-Jun Kwon from the Department of Information and Communication Engineering. The new sensors are patches of the health diagnosis system that can easily attach to human skin without any surgery. Though the sensors are revolutionary, commercial development is still unknown. However, researchers believe that these sensors revolutionize the healthcare industry and can assist pharmaceutical companies to develop new drugs and therapeutics. Moreover, Professor also believes that with new sensors the health monitoring can become even more effective than ever before.

Challenges Before Effective Development?

The development of healthcare wearable has been going on for quite some time now. However, the development of technology for real-time data of the body has to face a series of challenges. The major challenge was the collection of biometric data from the body. This was followed by the presentation of the data in a user-friendly manner to the patient. Moreover, the communication of the sensor to the server was a critical barrier that researchers have to deal with for successful development.

However, with several brainstorming sessions and immense research, Professor and his team were able to develop this revolutionary sensor. Moreover, the key to the success of the sensor is its ease of application and collection of vital data. The patched sensor can collect numerous biodata just by skin adhesion. Additionally, the new sensors can easily monitor the muscle movement and detect any anomaly that occurs in the patient.

Currently, the technology is helping the livestock and animal husbandry industry, however, plans to use the technology on human subjects are under development. Once, this technology becomes commercial, the healthcare service providers can help the patients even effective than ever before.
